Using Messages from the Wee Folk by Jennifer A. Murphy published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.
February is upon us. This short month brings us Imbolc, Candlemas, Groundhogs Day, the Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent and Valentine’s Day. What a very busy time, especially for those who may follow more than one path of faith. Remember to take it easy and try to remember the word MODERATION. You don’t have to go over-board in any one direction. In fact, you might find a little of this and a little of that to be just the ticket. That would be the Fae Way! :D February can also be a month of extremes when it comes to the cold weather here in the U.S., be prepared for whatever the weather may bring you. Keep a little emergency kit in the car just in case…
Well, now let’s see what the Wee Folk have to offer for this month ahead…
The beginning of the month is a very important time for the Fae. Imbolc is a very magical time for them and can be for you too. Imbolc is one of the fire festivals throughout the year and is considered a Greater Sabbat for the Fae and those who follow the Faerie Path. This is a time to celebrate the returning of the light, and days growing longer. This is a time to clear away the cobwebs of winter and start planning for spring.
The Wee Folk want you to think about how you “Receive.” Are you open to receiving physical things from others? Unconditional love? Energy from the Universe? Messages from Spirit... or the Fae? Are you running around far too busy to pay attention to these things? It’s time to slow down, sit down and breathe in all that is around you. Practice receiving graciously and gracefully. You know that feeling when you gift someone something? You know how good you feel when you’ve made someone profoundly happy… Why would you deny others that same feeling? Practice… Allow others to do for you as you do for them.
This is also a good time to learn how to ask for help. This is very difficult for many of us as we have grown to become WAY TOO independent! When we ask others for their help, this helps them feel appreciated and it allows the heart to fill. Practice asking… Maybe ask someone to catch the door for you. Grab something that is out reach… It doesn’t have to be a huge task, make it something small. The next time will be much easier.
Toward the middle of the month, it’s time to focus once again on those relationships that are closest to you. Sometimes we get so busy with the day to day mundane stuff that is going on in our lives that we lose the magic of “friend” time. Schedule something in. Make it a play date. Go out and do something really fun that you both will enjoy. This is especially important with Valentine’s Day being stuck right there in the middle of the month. That can be a very depressing time for some. So be sure to check in on each other and bring the magic back into your lives. Maybe grab your Tarot cards and do readings for each other while you are at it! :D
The end of the month is an excellent time to work on your goals, short term and long. Where do you want to be in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years and 10? This is a time to dream! Think about what you really want… What do you truly desire? Again, sometimes we get moving in our day to day stuff and we forget the possibilities. So dream, and then dream BIG! Write it down, make a vision or dream board using photos from magazines or maybe even actual photos you’ve taken. Create positive affirmations and put them around your house where you see them often. Start believing in you and believing in the endless possibilities that you can create… THEN comes the most important part – start taking the steps to achieve what you dream! Take ACTION! By following your dreams, joy, love and laughter follow right behind.
A nice stone to carry or wear this month is the Black Agate.
This agate stabilizes the aura, eliminating and transforming negative energies. Its cleansing effect is powerful at the physical and emotional levels. It is said that the Black Agate is excellent for grounding and centering the energies of the Root Chakra. It can be used to gain self control, quiet power, invisibility, peace and calming anxiety. It is also considered a receiving stone and is useful for meditation and reflection.
