By Kat Hamlin
I was taken by surprise when I was chosen as the new Editor for the American Tarot Association’s Quarterly Journal. I suppose I opened my mouth and stuck my foot in, but here I am! I am looking forward to this journey as you can see by the card I have chosen to represent myself here. Yes, I am The Fool! I am fresh and ready to learn, exchange and share as we travel down the path of awareness and understanding, for we are never to wise or too old to become The Fool in whatever direction life takes us. This card comes from The Victorian Fairy Tarot by Lunaea Weatherstone and Gary A. Lippincott, published by Llwellyn Worldwide. The deck comes in a boxed set with a 256-page companion book.
If you like this card, I hope that if you are not a member, you will join the American Tarot Association to get full access to this book and deck review in my first issue upon taking over this enormous task. I promise it will be full of goodies, including a Lenormand spread and the resurgence of the interest in her work and legacy of another type of reading. I am also encouraging members to contribute snippets of funny, strange and wonderful things to be included in a new section entitled The Tarot Reader’s Digest. It is inspired by the fun parts of the Readers Digest.
I can’t give away too much information yet, but I hope you are as excited and willing to take the Fool’s path down the road with me. I am open to all contributions, so please send anything that you would like to add into this new revised Quarterly is welcome. My email is quarterly@ata-tarot.com.
Until we meet again, blessed be!
