Wow! What a journey across centuries! I took this book with me on vacation and it pulled me in. I could NOT put it down until turned the very last page. The Fortune Teller is intriguingly filled with mystery, suspense, history, and even a little romance.
Semele works for a Manhattan auction house as an appraiser of antiquities. She is hired by the Bossard family to appraise Marcel Bossard collection in Geneva. Once there, she finds herself in the possession of a manuscript, a memoir but also a prophecy, that was written during the time of Cleopatra. The manuscript speaks of an ancient oracle that has gone missing; a tarot deck, that a secret someone will do anything to get their hands on. There is only one person who can help her, Theo Brossard, Marcel’s handsome, yet elusive son.
As the suspense rises Semele comes to
realize that she is personally tied to the writer of the manuscript
from centuries ago. This is a gripping story that weaves back and
forth between current day and times past. Ms. Womack pays great
attention to historical detail and tells a beautiful tale filled with
adventure, fate, and of course tarot. The Fortune Teller is a true page-turner.
