Breathe in peace and Breathe out peace. Do this until you feel relaxed and at ease. Close your eyes.

You are in a green courtyard outside of The Queen of Swords’ chamber. You see the sun’s first light as you walk. There is a flock of birds clustered in the middle. There are sparrows, robins and pigeons.

The birds move out of your way, revealing a path that leads to a man sitting down at one of two silver chairs, playing chess on a stone table. He is dressed simply in a white tunic with blue sandals. He wears a simple silver crown on his head. He smiles and beckons to you. On his right ear is an tiny sword earring.

“Take a seat, my friend. Do you play?’

You know this is The King of Swords. For a moment you say nothing then take the seat next to him.

“Life is like chess. You have to look at the board carefully and plan your moves accordingly.” The King taps at his temples. “Strategy, intuition and a bit of luck are all you need.”

You gaze at the chessboard then notice the pieces. The pieces resemble people in your life. Who are they? Is one of them you? On the board are written certain things in some of the squares. What do these messages say to you?

Suddenly you look up to see the sun is higher in the sky than before. Some time has passed as you gazed at the board. You can take as much time as you wish with The King of Swords. He is as open to all conversation as his wife was.

“Thank you, Sir. But I must go now.”

The King of Sword rises and gives you a strong squeeze on your shoulder.

“Safe journey, my friend. Come back again to court, your presence is always welcome.”

As you walk away from the King, you will count to ten and find yourself back in your reality. Reflect on your meeting with The King of Swords.
