Snow's book Queering the Tarot is packed full of great information. She shares her insight, wisdom,
and direction for personal and professional readings alike. I find
her take on the tarot is not unlike Aleister Crowley's Thoth deck and
book; a bit dark but very truthful in many respects.
To be very honest I do have to address the terminology and the use of the word "Queer." I know that the younger generation of Millennials, for some reason identify with that word. However, being of an older generation, going through the "coming out, Stonewall, and the AIDS crisis, the 1950s into the 1990s)." Because of those experiences, I personally don't care for the word "Queer." I have inquired with several people both young and old in the LGBTQ community and discovered that the older generation does not relate to that term and finds it to be negative.
I believe the younger generation will appreciate and easily learn to read with this book. They will also have some great guidance with the wisdom Cassandra has created and shared in this book not only for the reader but also for client readings as well.
The card images used in the book are from Robin Scott's Urban Tarot. This is a lovely 78 card deck which the younger LBGTQs will find very relatable. If you are a collector of the Tarot cards I think this is one that is a must have for this time and generation.
