June 2018
By Lalia Wilson
June is the time of the Cancer Solstice, the Summer Solstice for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Enjoy the freedoms that June brings, yet be moderate so that you have no regrets in July.
In order to read the cards for each sign, I used a different deck of cards for each of the four elements. All cards were randomized before drawing the cards. Four cards were repeated: The Magician, The World, the Eight of Pentacles and the Nine of Cups. If we consider these four cards as a sort of “collective” reading, then we see ourselves manifesting and achieving our goals, working diligently with precision, and celebrating our successes. We might be overdoing the “celebrating.”
By suit, we have abundant Pentacles and Cups, a few Swords and no Wands. Perhaps the summer heat, or the volcanic eruptions, have taken all the fire out of us. There are four court cards, a Page and Queen of Pentacles, a Queen of Cups and a King of Swords. Together, these court cards indicate moderation, attention to health and finances, relationships, and some serious thinking.
The cards used for the fire signs were the Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot, based on artwork by Pamela Colman Smith, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. For the Earth signs, I used the Science Tarot by Logan Austeja Daniel, Martin Azeveda, and Raven Hanna, Ph.D. The Science Tarot was illustrated by Janelle Schneider, Kristy Whitehorse, Shari Arai DeBoer, Tammy Stellanova, and Kristian Johnson Michiels. The Science Tarot was published by Science Tarot, Inc., and is available through Amazon. Representing the Air signs is The Hexen 2.0 Tarot by Suzanne Treister and published by Black Dog Publishing, and available through multiple vendors. For the Water signs, I used The Midcenturian Tarot by Madam Clara and available through multiple vendors.
Aries:
Justice and the Eight of Swords:
Dear Aries, June looks like fun with short trips, neighborhood and community functions and events, and some athletic activities with your friends. What’s missing is your partner or your prospects for a partner. Your partner is glowing with charisma and attracting a lot of attention from prospective mates, or short-term flings. As a cardinal fire sign, you have the shortest fuse of the zodiac. You won’t put up with anyone messing around on you. But are you holding your (prospective) partner to higher standards than you have for yourself? Be fair and let go of bad thoughts about this situation.

Taurus:
Strength and the Six of Cups:
Well, Taurus, it looks like family reunion time. Your family is a source of strength to you and now is the time to reconnect. You are excited to go visiting family and longtime friends. You are also excited because you have an excuse to fix up things at home. The home improvement and home decorating bug has hit you this month. You have the funds and the confidence in yourself to move forward on some long-awaited projects. Hurray!

Gemini:
The World and the Two of Swords:
Dear Gemini, most of the month has you shining in your own style, being admired for your quick wit, breezy manner and ability to talk about anything. This month also has the potential for some long trips, even overseas trips. The more serious side of the month is a matter of an inheritance, or estate planning, or retirement planning. This is lots of paperwork, and consultations with family, friends, and experts. Take the time you need, I know you are a quick study, but these decisions have to stand the tests of time. Listen to the experts and experienced trustworthy others. Make good decisions so that this matter does not come back to haunt you.

Cancer:
The Moon and the Queen of Cups:
Cancer, you have a super month for most endeavors. This month finds you full of good will, content, bursting with pride for numerous accomplishments, especially those of your children if you have any. The time is right for any vacations near water, the beach, the lake, the swimming pool. Water is always nourishing for you, and it is especially good for you this month. In addition, your artistic and intuitive gifts are functioning 100%, which makes it a wonderful time for any use of those talents.

Leo:
The Magician and the Nine of Pentacles:
Dear Leo, it’s time to check your health and to follow your healthcare practitioner’s advice. Unfortunately, the rules of good health habits apply to Leos just like they do to everyone else. You may be reminded by your body that you need to treat it right. Also, this month shows an absence of income. Something you were expecting does not come through… at least not this month. So, in addition to being moderate in your physical habits, you need to watch your budget.

Virgo:
The Chariot and the King of Swords:
Dear Virgo, your public adores you. Your female friends are comforting and supportive. Your career looks good. You have the finances for a new car, and this may be the time for it. Why do I see you in a black car with strongly tinted windows? That's not your usual wont, but this month it sure looks good. Women and children are good for you this month. Relax as the month unfolds, your good thinking processes are still working in the background; your insightful thoughts are being processed all along.

Libra:
The Magician and the Nine of Cups:
Dear Libra, everything related to your job, income, and career look rosy. Your thoughts are busy with your career and some big projects. You may be doing some public speaking or marketing and advertising related to your goals. All the signals are going for job, career, and income related matters. This type of month doesn't come along very often. Seize the day! Get moving on whatever you want to accomplish. Now is the time.

Scorpio:
The World and the Eight of Pentacles:
Dear Scorpio, June finds you fat and happy, but there are some concerns with siblings, cousins, and/or neighbors. Your neighborhood may be a source of concern this month. There may be some circumstance beyond your control that will dampen the spirits of everyone in your community. Take any hints of trouble seriously. The sooner you take action, the better your outcome. Finally, if you are a writer, this month is a good one to hunker down and deal with serious subjects. Success will be yours.

Sagittarius:
The Hermit and the Queen of Pentacles:
Okay, Sagittarius, at least for now, the bloom is off your enthusiasm for your career. You want to pull back and step out of the spotlight. At the same time, you are busy with projects that involve managing your income stream, setting up insurance policies or estate plans, and attempting to set up systems so that your finances can require less of your attention. This may be an impossible goal, yet setting things so that you only need to review them once a year may work out for you. Best wishes.

Capricorn:
The Hanged Man and the Eight of Pentacles:
Dear Capricorn, somewhere close to you there is a beach, lakeside, river, or swimming pool. This month your muse will find you there. As you are the least whimsical sign of the zodiac, this seeming whimsy is beyond your limited belief system. Nevertheless, do it anyway. Just once a week if you are hesitant. Your big project is nearly done. Believe it or not, spending some time by the water will help you reach your goals.

Aquarius:
The Hierophant and the Page of Pentacles:
Dear Aquarius, there is a lot going on behind your back, in your subconscious, and behind the walls this month. You may be setting up new wiring or new cable in your dwelling so that you can modernize your home. In fact, the next seven years are calling you to put your money where your mouth is and make all those futuristic home improvements. You have envisioned these for a long time. Now the action begins.

Pisces:
The Star and the Nine of Cups:
Okay, dear Pisces, the world is your oyster this month. You are filled with good energy and everything is working in your favor. Vacations are highlighted, as is artistic expression and your general intuition. You are alluring to others. However, be aware that forces are at work in your subconscious that will take months to rise to consciousness. Your best path is to give your subconscious some “me time” at regular intervals. This may be through art or music, but let your inner self-be nourished. The results will be well worth it.

You can use these Tarot Scopes to read your Sun sign, Moon sign or Rising Sign (also called your Ascendant). You can determine these by using free or low-cost apps, or internet sites, and inputting your time, date and place of birth. The Rising sign indicates your entire life; the Sun sign is about your ego and creative forces, and the Moon sign is about your reigning needs, emotions, and flexibility.
The tarot cards used as illustrations for this column are ones that I or the editor, Terri Clement, admire and want to share with you. Note that decks have subtle differences of meaning as they are reinterpreted by a new creator/artist, and, of course, the tarot reader. Enjoy that flexibility of meaning and the artwork of these various decks. Reading articles with illustrations like these will help you determine the tarot decks that most fit you.
