July TarotScopes
By Lalia Wilson
Happy July! For the Northern Hemisphere, we are fully into summer, but it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere. July features two eclipses, a Solar Eclipse on the 2nd, and a Lunar Eclipse on the 16th. All this plus: Mercury will be retrograde from July 7th until the last couple of minutes (ET) on the 31st. I’ll mention below which areas of life will be unstable for you this month.
All cards were randomized before these drawings, with four decks being used. Four cards were repeated: The Magician, The Moon, The World, and the Ten of Pentacles. When I see repeated cards, I consider them as a collective reading for all of us. Thus for July, we can obtain our goals on all levels, especially our security and safety goals, if we don’t listen to salesmen, promoters who might be loose with the facts, or listen to people who are overly emotional or irrational. We need to curb our instincts for a “hot deal” or “quick money” and any life or financial advice from people we know are unsound. Yes, we can express the good side of the Magician or the Moon, but only if we are clear about the downside and consciously avoid it.
The Fire signs are shown by The Cook’s Tarot created by Judith Mackay Stirt and published by Schiffer (2015). The Earth signs are illustrated by the Wildwood Tarot (2011), created by Mark Ryan, John Matthews, and Will Worthington, published by Sterling Ethos. The Air signs are depicted by The Wheel of the Year Tarot (2011) by Maria Caratti and Antonella Platano, published by Lo Scarabeo. The Water Signs are shown by the Housewives Tarot (2004), by Paul Kepple and Jude Buffum and published by Quirk Books.
Aries:
The World and the Queen of Wands:
Dear Aries, It looks like a great month for your career, your health, and any vacation travel. You will have the public eye and thus can forward your career and reputation. Having just started some new creative project, or love affair, you are pulled back to deal with family or house issues.
Taurus:
The Shaman and the Ten of Stones (Pentacles):
Dear Taurus, A health matter concerns you, have it checked out; most likely it is not serious. This month is favored for short trips, meeting cousins or siblings, or a “staycation.” Having just started some home projects, or looking for a new home, you are pulled back to deal with a sibling’s or neighbor’s issues.
Gemini:
The World and the Two of Pentacles:
Gemini, you have some big financial deals to handle this month, possibly involving an estate. Your dreams have taken a new turn. If you remember them, all the better, but your dreams are taking you to new territory and you may wake up each day feeling as though you were working all night. Having just started a new trip, you have to stop to deal with financial issues, or your possessions.
Cancer:
The Wheel of Fortune and the Eight of Swords:
Dear Cancer, you may be having problems with putting on too much weight. You love to cook and to eat good food. You might have overdone this. Good news is that you are exercising more. A sister or daughter may be a concern this month. Having just started a new income enhancing project, you have to step back to deal with your health and personal issues.
Leo:
Death and the Six of Wands:
Dear Leo. You are feeling on top of the world, with lots of activity and socializing. However, a parent may be of concern to you this month, or even a relative in your ancestry. Having just started a personal improvement regimen, you are pulled back to deal with psychological issues you would prefer to overlook. (But they won’t go away unless you deal with them.)
Virgo:
The Moon and the Knight of Arrows (Swords):
Dear Virgo. Someone close to you is skirting the edges of the law. This may regard drugs. This could even involve you, if this person has used your home, car, computer, or such to facilitate their illegal activities. Be prudent. Have bail money ready or be prepared to say “no.” Having just started a regular meditation practice, a number of group activities, plus your step-children, take a lot more of your time.
Libra:
High Priestess and the Ten of Pentacles:
Dear Libra, it looks like real estate, home, or family-of-origin are occupying your attention this month. Whatever this matter is, be prepared to deal with it for at least the remainder of the year. In addition, any secrets you might have that involve online activity are bound to be revealed. Take corrective action now. Having just started interacting with a new group, your career demands more time.
Scorpio:
The Lovers and the Five of Cups:
Dear Scorpio, you are likely parted from your significant other because of vacations or higher education. Summer vacation romance is favored, yet heartbreak is coming when everyone has to return home. It looks like you are starting a new job but leaving on a long trip, business or vacation, early on.
Sagittarius:
The Moon and the Five of Pentacles:
Dear Sagittarius, fluctuating finances are a concern this month. This year finds you having to deal with your finances, and that of others, again and again. Be prudent, and take legal advice if the situation is complex. You are taking off on a well-deserved vacation, when serious financial matters, or a significant death, cause you to go home again.
Capricorn:
The Stag (Justice) and the Page of Arrows (Swords):
Dear Capricorn, if you have a young female boss, or if you are a young female boss, your career is favored this month. Strategy and diplomacy will work for you. Use your brain, and your charm to your advantage. You are just starting a new line of research when your partner requires more time.
Aquarius:
The Hanged Man and the King of Cups:
Dear Aquarius, money and money management are on your mind. Not much is changing this month with money, though. If you work for or live near a large hospital, mental hospital, or correctional facility, expect some excitement, as matters will reach some sort of climax this month. Your role is low key and understated. You have some time for socializing and spending time with your partner, when a health issue, or one of your employees or co-workers has a problem that needs you back at the office, or seeing a doctor.
Pisces:
The Magician and the Two of Swords:
Dear Pisces, Pay attention to any health issues this month, especially anything related to your heart. If you are making big financial or business deals, this month a young female is a better dealmaker for you than a man. Like the Magician, you have a lot going on. You’ve just figured out a new schedule to handle all your many activities, when everything is upended due to your children or creative projects.
You can use these Tarot Scopes to read your Sun sign, Moon sign or Rising Sign (also called your Ascendant). You can determine these by using free or low cost apps, or internet sites, and inputting your time, date and place of birth. The Rising sign indicates your entire life; the Sun sign is about your ego and creative forces, and the Moon sign is about your reigning needs, emotions, and flexibility.
The tarot cards used as illustrations for this column are ones that I or the editor, Terri Clement, admire and want to share with you. Note that decks have subtle differences of meaning as they are reinterpreted by a new creator/artist, and, of course, the tarot reader. Enjoy that flexibility of meaning and the artwork of these various decks. Reading articles with illustrations like these will help you determine the tarot decks that most fit you. If you get bored seeing my favorites, I’m open to suggestions and gifts.
